PRC Walk-in Examination (WES): You can register online for the Walk-in examination at the PRC website
Endorsement of Training Certificates: Training Certificates issued by Training Centers that are mandatory minimum requirements prescribed in Chapter A-V and Chapter A-VI of STCW'95 have to be endorsed by the Philippine Government. Validity of Endorsements: Endorsements issued under Chapter A-V and Chapter A-VI of STCW'95 shall be renewed not later than five(5) years after the date of issue. These shall be renewed provided however that the holder thereof
presents evidence that he has undergone the appropriate refresher training or has achieved the required standard of competence.

Some courses are free (P1), other courses can be sponsored by OWWA. Applying for a Passport: Philippine passport is filed at the Department of Foreign Affairs main office at Roxas Boulevard corner Libertad, Pasay City or at any of its Regional Consular Offices in Cauayan, Isabela;
San Fernando, La Union; San Fernando, Pampanga; Lucena City; Legaspi City; Iloilo City; Cebu City; Cagayan de Oro City; Davao City and Zamboanga City.
First-time applicants need to file their application forms personally while those with expired Passport have the option to renew either personally or through DFA's website.
Applying for a Seaman's Book (Seafarer's Identification and Record Book): Required documents have to be filed at the Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA), located at the PPL Bldg., 1000 U.N. Ave. cor San Marcelino, Manila.
Requirements for a Seaman's Book: - Transcript of Record (High School TOR for High School Graduates) One-Stop-Shop At the POEA building in Ortigas, various government agencies have set up branches where you can process
your travel documents on the spot, e.g passport, seamanbook etc Basic Safety Course: Applicants who wish to pursue a career in seafaring must complete a Basic Safety Course (BSC) training obtained from an accredited maritime training center duly approved by the Maritime Training Council, a division of the Philippine Overseas Employment Agency.
The course covers the mandatory minimum requirements prescribed in Regulation VI/1, and Section A-VI/1 of STCW'95. Social Security System (SSS): Every seafarer must have a Social Security System (SSS) ID as required by the Philippine Government. Seafarers (as all OFW's) are regarded as self-employed, however, it is the respective manning agency that is
responsible to pay contributions and file monthly/quartely reports to SSS. Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth): Every seafarer must have a PhilHealth ID. Seafarers (as all OFW's) are regarded as self-employed, however, it is the respective manning agency that is
responsible to pay contributions and file monthly/quartely reports to PhilHealth. NBI Clearance: The NBI clearance is one of the requirements to file for a Visa - Seaman. Apply at the NBI Clearance Center (Carriedo Plaza, Carriedo cor Estero Cegado Sts. Sta. Cruz, Manila) or at any NBI satellite offices,
NBI Regional / District Offices and NBI Kiosk nationwide. For detailed procedure on how to obtain the NBI certificate and the fees, please visit: Birth Certificate: Birth Certificates are requested from The Office of the Civil Registrar General of the National Statistics Office.
You may apply personally or for your convenience, the agency is accepting online applications. Payments can also be made through banks.
Certificate of Authentication and Verification (CAV): For college graduates, you can secure your CAV or Certificate of Authentication and Verification from the CHED
